A glass vase, 73cm tall, in brown. This is a floor piece, not a table piece. It belongs in the space beside a chair or a fireplace, where a tall form fills height that furniture cannot. At 34cm wide it is about the width of a laptop. Height decides the position. A tall vase is a floor or a console piece and needs space around it; a low one belongs on a table where it is looked down into rather than across at.

A warm colour advances: it makes a piece read as closer and a room as smaller and more enclosed, which is an argument for it in a space that already feels cavernous and against it in one that does not. Glass reads differently depending on what is behind it, which is why the same piece looks warm against a painted wall and cool against a window.
