Description
The Moryn is an 18-light three-tier chandelier built on a Georgian frame with a warm gold finish and Strass-cut crystal droplets throughout. Each of the 18 arms terminates in an SES candle-style bulb holder (bulbs sold separately), arranged in tiers of 12, 4 and 2 lights from bottom to top. Crystal swags drape between the arms and a central column runs through the three tiers, topped with a crystal-dressed finial.
Designed for high-ceilinged rooms including dining rooms with 3m+ ceilings, entrance halls, and double-height stairwells, the 96cm diameter and 115cm drop give the chandelier substantial presence without overwhelming a typical 4-5m dining table. The three-tier construction creates vertical rhythm and works particularly well in rooms with decorative cornicing, panelled walls, or Georgian/Victorian architectural detail. The chandelier weighs 20kg, requiring a reinforced ceiling rose or joist fixing.
The Strass crystal cutting on the droplets and beads creates faceted surfaces that catch and refract candlelight or LED flame-effect bulbs. The warm gold finish on the metalwork softens the visual impact compared to polished chrome or silver-plate equivalents, pairing comfortably with traditional brass door furniture, warm oak, and heritage paint colours. The arms curve gently upward, giving a lighter silhouette than the flat-armed French Empire style.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Moryn take?
The chandelier takes 18 SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs, each rated up to 25W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for a period-appropriate glow.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 115cm drop plus the chain suspension means the chandelier typically needs ceiling heights of 3m or above to maintain adequate head clearance beneath. For dining rooms, the bottom tier should sit approximately 75-90cm above the table surface.
How is the chandelier supported?
At 20kg, the Moryn requires a reinforced ceiling rose fixed directly to a joist or a spreader plate installed between joists. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. Professional installation is recommended.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Switch off the mains supply. Remove individual droplets and swags carefully, wash in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse in distilled water, and dry with a lint-free cloth. Alternatively, use a crystal chandelier spray cleaner applied in situ with a drip tray beneath.
