Description

The Montare is a 4 light chandelier built around an antique bronze frame with curved arms extending from a central column, each arm ending in a candle-style sleeve housing an SES bulb fitting. Hand-cut lead crystal drops hang from the arms and central column on pin fixings, adding weight and refraction to the 51cm diameter frame. The chandelier sits at 69cm overall drop including the chain suspension, and weighs 6kg fully assembled.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and primary bedrooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m, the Montare provides decorative focal presence without requiring vaulted ceilings or oversized floor areas. The 51cm spread suits tables 1.2-1.6m in length when hung 700-800mm above the surface, or works above a console table in a hallway where the ceiling height allows the bottom of the chandelier to clear head height by 200mm minimum. The chain length is adjustable on installation to suit the specific room.

The antique bronze finish is applied as a dark patina over the metal frame, giving the appearance of aged metalwork with tonal variation across the surface rather than a uniform coating. The hand-cut lead crystal drops are faceted to catch and refract light from the four candle-style bulbs, creating movement and sparkle when the chandelier is lit. Each crystal element is individually pinned to the frame, meaning minor settling or occasional adjustment may be needed after installation as the crystals bed in. What bulbs does the Montare take?

The chandelier uses four SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs with a maximum rating of 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional look.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 69cm drop is measured from the ceiling rose to the bottom of the chandelier, excluding chain. For a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The chain length is adjustable during installation to suit your specific room.

How is the crystal maintained?

The lead crystal drops can be wiped gently with a dry microfibre cloth while the chandelier is switched off and cool. For deeper cleaning, individual crystals can be removed from their pin fixings, washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, dried and re-pinned. Avoid spraying cleaning products directly onto the chandelier as this can affect the antique bronze finish.

Is the antique bronze finish consistent across all pieces?

No. The antique bronze is applied as a patina, meaning tonal variation and darker areas are intentional features of the finish rather than defects. Each chandelier will show slightly different patina patterns depending on how the finish was applied and aged.
