Description

The Dawn Large is a table lamp built around an open black metal cage frame with a 185mm square footprint, housing a single spherical opal glass diffuser at its centre. The frame is constructed from square-section metal bars welded to form a cube structure, with the glass sphere suspended within it on a black metal base that contains the lamp holder and cable entry.

Designed for bedside tables, desks, console tables and side tables where both ambient and decorative light are needed, the lamp works in modern, industrial and minimalist interiors. The open-cage structure means the lamp casts light in all directions rather than directing it, making it better suited to general ambient use than focused task lighting. The 185mm footprint fits standard bedside tables and smaller desk corners without occupying excessive surface area.

The opal glass sphere diffuses the light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately), softening the output and reducing glare compared to an exposed filament bulb. The black powder-coated metal finish provides a low-sheen surface that pairs with black, grey and dark-toned furniture without competing visually. The frame protects the glass sphere from accidental contact while remaining visually open, so the lamp does not appear heavy or solid despite its metal construction.

What bulb does the Dawn take?

The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED globe bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or living room lighting.

Is the Dawn dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable. If you require dimming functionality, you would need to use a dimmable E27 LED bulb paired with a compatible table lamp dimmer cord, sold separately.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the lamp is suitable for dry indoor environments only and must not be used in bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor locations.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulb to cool. Wipe the opal glass sphere with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal base or lamp holder.
