Aeron 1 Light Pendant - White, 34cm

The Aeron is a 340mm diameter pendant light built from a white-painted metal mesh cage in a rounded, slightly squared profile. The mesh structure is formed from thin metal wire woven in a diamond pattern, creating a semi-transparent cage that allows light to escape through hundreds of small apertures. A single E27 bulb sits at the centre on a drop cord, with the cage acting as both shade and diffuser.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas and hallways where overhead pendant lighting is needed without a heavy visual presence, the Aeron works above kitchen islands, breakfast bars and corridor runs where ceiling heights are 2.4m or higher. The 2000mm cable drop is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to sit 600-800mm above a worktop or 700-900mm above a dining table. The white mesh reflects and refracts light outwards, projecting a geometric shadow pattern onto adjacent walls and ceilings when the bulb is lit.

The metal cage is powder-coated in matt white, which softens the industrial mesh construction and pairs with white, grey and pastel-toned interiors. The mesh structure gives the pendant a lighter visual weight than a solid metal shade of the same diameter would carry, making it suitable for smaller kitchens and dining areas where a bulkier fitting would overwhelm the space. The E27 fitting accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb.

What bulb does it take?

The Aeron takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining and kitchen areas.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming, but you must use a dimmable LED or halogen bulb for the dimming function to work.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 2000mm cable drop is adjustable on installation. For a kitchen island or dining table the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Aeron if the cable is shortened during fitting.

Does the mesh create shadow patterns?

Yes. The diamond-pattern mesh refracts light through the apertures, projecting geometric shadows onto nearby walls and ceilings when the bulb is lit. The effect is most visible with a clear or lightly frosted bulb rather than an opaque white LED.
