The Aeron is a 28cm spherical pendant light built from black wire mesh wrapped around a metal frame, creating an open cage structure that shows the bulb within. A single E27 bulb holder sits at the centre, suspended from a black fabric cable that extends 2000mm from the ceiling rose. The pendant is dimmable when paired with a suitable E27 LED bulb and compatible dimmer switch.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living areas where ambient and decorative light combine, the Aeron works best at heights between 700-900mm above a surface or 2000-2400mm from floor to bottom of shade in open-plan rooms. The wire mesh diffuses direct glare from the bulb while allowing light to pass through the gaps in multiple directions, casting patterned shadows onto surrounding walls and ceilings. The 2m cable is adjustable during installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards.

The mesh structure is formed from fine gauge metal wire coated in matt black, giving a low-sheen finish that reads as charcoal rather than glossy black under most lighting conditions. The spherical form measures 295mm in diameter and weighs approximately 800g, light enough for standard UK ceiling roses without additional support. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor spaces — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor locations.

The Aeron pairs with both warm-toned and cool-toned LED bulbs depending on the room's palette. A warm-white 2700K LED creates amber light through the mesh for traditional and mid-century interiors, while a cooler 4000K bulb gives sharper definition in contemporary and Scandi-style spaces. The open mesh allows heat from the bulb to dissipate naturally, so the pendant remains cool to touch even after extended use.

What bulb does it take and is it included?

The Aeron takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED filament bulb to complement the wire mesh structure and create ambient light.

Is the Aeron dimmable?
