Description

The Aeron is a 340mm black metal pendant light with a woven mesh shade that forms a rounded, slightly flattened globe shape. The mesh is constructed from black-finished metal wire in a fine diamond lattice, dense enough to soften the bulb glare while still revealing the light source inside. A single E27 bulb fitting sits centrally within the shade, suspended on a 2m adjustable black cable.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, bedrooms and hallways where a single pendant provides accent or task lighting, the Aeron works above side tables, breakfast bars, small dining tables (under 1.2m), and in entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The 2m cable allows the pendant to be shortened during installation to suit lower ceilings or to cluster multiple Aeron pendants at different heights. The mesh shade casts patterned shadows on surrounding surfaces when the bulb is lit, creating geometric wall projections.

The black powder-coated finish on the metal mesh gives a matt, non-reflective surface that pairs with industrial, contemporary and Scandi-minimalist interiors. The mesh construction keeps the shade lightweight at approximately 0.8kg, reducing strain on ceiling roses. The pendant is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable E27 LED bulb, allowing light intensity to be adjusted from full brightness for task work down to low ambient levels for evening use.

The Aeron is part of Ideal Lux's Italian-designed metal pendant range and carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor installation.

What bulb does the Aeron take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED bulb in 2700K-3000K warm white. The mesh shade works well with visible-filament LED bulbs as the lattice reveals the bulb shape inside.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the Aeron is dimmable when used with a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable E27 LED bulb. Check that both the dimmer and bulb are rated as compatible before installation to avoid flickering.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The 2m cable is adjustable during installation. An electrician can shorten the cable run inside the ceiling rose or canopy to suit lower ceiling heights or to position the pendant closer to the ceiling.

Where can this pendant be used?

The IP20 rating means the Aeron is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It cannot be used in bathrooms (zones 1-3) or outdoors. Suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, dining areas and hallways with standard domestic ceiling heights.
