Ternis 5 Light Crystal Chandelier - Polished Nickel

The Ternis is a 5-light crystal chandelier built around a central polished nickel column, from which five curved arms extend outwards in a symmetrical arrangement. Each arm terminates in a BC (bayonet cap) candle fitting housed in a clear glass sleeve, with a faceted crystal bobeche beneath the bulb and multiple crystal drops hanging from the arm. The polished nickel frame provides a cool-toned metallic finish that reflects light without the warmth of brass or gold.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the 40cm diameter and 46cm drop suit rooms where a decorative fitting is needed without dominating the space. The five BC fittings each accept bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or traditional filament bulbs depending on the desired light output and colour temperature. The chandelier weighs 2kg and requires a ceiling rose rated for suspension fittings.

The crystal drops are cut with facets that catch and refract light from the candle bulbs, creating movement across walls and ceilings when the chandelier is lit. The polished nickel finish contrasts with the transparent crystal elements, giving the fitting a cooler, more contemporary presence than traditional brass or antique finishes. The combination of the architectural central column, the curved arms and the suspended crystal drops gives the Ternis a balanced profile when viewed from below.

What bulbs does the Ternis take?

Each of the five fittings accepts a BC (bayonet cap, B22) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this chandelier with candle-shaped LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to mimic traditional filament candles.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 46cm drop from ceiling rose to base of the chandelier works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In dining room installations the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above the table surface, which requires a ceiling height of at least 2.6m to maintain adequate headroom.

Is the chandelier adjustable in height?

The 46cm measurement is the fixed height of the chandelier body itself. If additional drop is needed, the suspension chain can be extended during installation, but this is not adjustable once fitted without re-installation.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal drop individually with a dry microfibre cloth. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal fittings or allowing water to reach the electrical components.
