Sorrelle 5 Light Optical Glass Chandelier - Gold

The Sorrelle is a 5-light chandelier built around a central polished gold column with five arms radiating outward in symmetrical formation. Each arm carries a fluted optical glass bobeche beneath a candle-style G9 bulb fitting and terminates in a faceted crystal pendant. A precision-cut crystal finial sits atop the central column, with a matching pendant below the main hub.

Designed for dining rooms with 2.4m or higher ceilings, the Sorrelle works as centrepiece lighting above a 1.8-2.4m table, hanging 70-90cm above the surface depending on ceiling height. The 54cm diameter suits rooms of 12-18m² without overwhelming narrower spaces. The five G9 bulbs (sold separately) provide directed upward light that reflects off ceilings and refracts through the optical glass, distributing ambient illumination across the room.

The optical glass bobeches are moulded with radial fluting that catches and redirects light into horizontal bands, adding decorative depth when the chandelier is lit. The faceted crystal pendants beneath each arm add weight to the composition and create distinct light points as they catch reflections from the bulbs above. The polished gold finish on the metal frame provides warm metallic contrast against white or neutral ceilings and pairs comfortably with traditional, classical and transitional interiors where brass, gold and warm tones dominate.

At 5kg, the chandelier requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or structural support rather than relying on plasterboard alone. The chain suspension allows height adjustment during installation to account for different ceiling heights and table positions.

What bulbs does the Sorrelle take?

The chandelier takes five G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 33W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs at 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for a traditional candle-style glow.

Is the Sorrelle suitable for low ceilings?

The body height is 40cm excluding chain and ceiling rose. For a typical dining position 70-90cm above the table, a ceiling height of at least 2.4m is recommended to avoid the chandelier sitting too low.

Can the height be adjusted?

Yes. The chain suspension allows the drop to be shortened during installation by removing links or looping excess chain inside the ceiling rose.

How is the optical glass cleaned?

Wipe the glass bobeches and crystal pendants with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid household glass cleaners on the optical glass as residue can build up in the fluting and dull the refraction effect.
