Description

The Samero is a 12-light chandelier built on a two-tier polished nickel frame with six arms on each tier, radiating from a central column topped with a faceted crystal finial and cut glass disk. Each arm terminates in a cylindrical optical glass diffuser sitting on a nickel candle sleeve, housing a single G9 bulb. The frame includes a diamond-cut central feature between the two tiers and teardrop crystal droplets hanging beneath each arm.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces with ceiling heights above 2.7m, the chandelier's 72cm diameter suits tables 1.6-2.2m long or floor areas of 16-25m² where a central fitting is needed. The two-tier structure distributes light both upward and downward, with the upper tier illuminating the ceiling and the lower tier providing direct light to the space below. The 50cm body height plus cable drop means the fitting typically hangs 700-900mm below the ceiling rose once installed.

The polished nickel finish on the metalwork delivers a cooler tone than brass or gold, pairing with greys, whites and darker accent colours in contemporary and transitional interiors. The optical glass diffusers are machine-pressed with vertical ribbing on the interior surface, which refracts the G9 bulb light outward while softening the direct glare. Each diffuser is open at the top, allowing heat to escape and simplifying bulb replacement. The combined weight of metal, glass and crystal gives the chandelier a 10kg presence requiring a ceiling strong enough to support it and a secure ceiling rose fitting.

The G9 fittings accept capsule bulbs up to 33W each, with most installations using LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W per socket for a combined output suitable for primary room lighting. Dimmable G9 LEDs paired with a compatible dimmer allow the light level to be adjusted for different uses throughout the day.

The chandelier takes twelve G9 capsule bulbs, maximum 33W each. Bulbs are not included. Most users fit LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K colour temperature for warm white light suitable for dining and living spaces.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulbs used and the dimmer switch installed. LED G9 bulbs marked as dimmable will work with a compatible LED dimmer. Non-dimmable G9 LEDs will flicker or fail if connected to a dimmer circuit.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 50cm body height plus the cable drop and ceiling rose typically result in the chandelier hanging 700-900mm below the ceiling. Rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above work well. For dining tables, the bottom of the chandelier should sit approximately 750-850mm above the table surface.

Can the ceiling support the weight?

At 10kg, the chandelier requires a ceiling joist or a solid fixing point capable of supporting at least 15kg. Standard plasterboard ceilings need a metal back plate or joist-mounted ceiling rose. Consult a qualified electrician if uncertain about the ceiling structure.
