Monvia 8 Light Optical Glass Chandelier - Nickel

The Monvia is an 8-light chandelier built around a central nickel column from which eight faceted optical glass arms radiate in two tiers. Each arm terminates in a conical glass shade housing a G9 bulb fitting, with additional faceted glass spikes projecting downward from the lower tier. The nickel framework and glass components combine to create a 57cm diameter fitting with 44cm drop from the ceiling rose to the lowest crystal.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and landings with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the Monvia provides ambient light through eight individual sources rather than a single central bulb. The faceted optical glass refracts light into sharper highlights than smooth glass, creating definition on nearby surfaces. The two-tier arrangement places four lights at the upper level and four below, giving vertical depth to the light spread. Typical installation positions the chandelier 750-850mm above a dining table or centred in a 4-5m entrance hall.

The optical glass arms are cut with angled facets that catch and scatter light, producing prismatic highlights when the bulbs are on and maintaining visual interest when off. The nickel finish on the metalwork reads as a cool grey-silver tone that pairs with marble, concrete, pale timber and monochrome interiors. At 6kg total weight the fitting requires a ceiling rose rated for the load and wiring capable of handling eight G9 lamps at up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately.

What bulbs does the Monvia take?

The chandelier uses eight G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. The maximum combined wattage is 33W across all eight fittings, so LED G9 bulbs at 3-4W each are typical. For warm white light, choose 2700K-3000K G9 LEDs.

Is the Monvia dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. G9 LED bulbs marked as dimmable will work with trailing-edge dimmers. Non-dimmable G9 LEDs will not respond to dimming and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer switch.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 44cm drop plus the diameter of 57cm means the chandelier works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. For dining tables, allow 750-850mm clearance between the table surface and the lowest point of the chandelier.

How is the optical glass cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulbs to cool. Wipe the faceted glass arms and shades with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or smudges, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately. Avoid sprays or chemical cleaners that can leave residue in the facets.
