Description
The Louven is an 8-light crystal chandelier built on a two-tier scrollwork frame in antique brass, dressed with hand-cut crystal droplets and pendants. Eight candle-style arms extend from the central column, each fitted with an SES bulb holder and draped with cascading crystal accents. The antique brass finish shows deliberately darkened patina, providing tonal depth against the clear crystal.
Designed for formal dining rooms, entrance halls and period-style living rooms where ceiling heights allow for the 59cm drop, the Louven works in rooms measuring 4-5m across. The 52cm diameter suits tables of 1.6-2.0m length, positioned 700-800mm above the table surface for dining. The scrollwork arms curve outward from a compact centre column, maximising the chandelier's visual spread without requiring excessive ceiling space. Each SES bulb takes up to 60W (LED or filament bulbs sold separately).
The hand-cut crystal pieces are attached individually to the brass frame using pins and hoops rather than glued or clipped, allowing the droplets to catch and refract light from multiple angles as the crystals move. The antique brass finish pairs with warm wood tones, damask wallpapers, and heritage colour palettes in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian interiors. At 6kg, the chandelier requires a ceiling rose rated for the weight and professional installation.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Louven take?
The chandelier takes eight SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white candle-style LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional glow that complements the antique brass.
Is it suitable for low ceilings?
With a 59cm drop plus chain or rod suspension, the Louven needs a ceiling height of at least 2.6m to avoid head clearance issues when hung over a dining table. Rooms with 2.4m ceilings may struggle unless the chandelier is positioned away from walkways.
Can the chandelier be fitted with a dimmer?
Yes, provided dimmable SES bulbs are used and paired with a compatible dimmer switch. Check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before installation.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Turn off the power and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal droplet individually with a dry microfibre cloth. For heavier dust, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately. Avoid sprays, polishes or soaking the crystals, as moisture can tarnish the brass fittings where the crystals attach.
