The Kielen Candle is a non-electric three-tier crystal chandelier with faceted crystal droplets suspended from three circular antique brass frames. The fitting is designed for use with candles rather than wired bulbs, providing ambient light through reflected candlelight rather than electric lamp sources. Each of the three tiers holds rows of cut crystal droplets on brass pins, creating a cascading waterfall effect that catches and refracts flame light in multiple directions.

Designed for entrance halls, powder rooms, compact foyers and above staircases where ceiling height allows vertical drop without wired access, the chandelier measures 20cm in diameter and 20cm in height. The compact footprint suits narrow hallways and smaller traditional rooms where a full-scale electric chandelier would overwhelm the space. The single-point suspension requires a ceiling hook or rose capable of carrying at least 1.5kg, allowing for safe candle operation and the additional weight of molten wax during use.

The antique brass finish on the frame and canopy is darker and warmer than polished brass, with a matt oxidised patina that suits period properties, country house interiors and rooms decorated in warm earth tones. The faceted crystal droplets are cut in a traditional octagonal profile, maximising light refraction when candles are lit. The chandelier requires appropriate fire-safe candles and should be positioned away from curtains, low ceilings and other flammable materials in accordance with UK fire safety guidance for open-flame decorative lighting.

Is this chandelier wired for electric bulbs?

No. The Kielen Candle is a non-electric chandelier designed for use with candles. It has no wiring, no bulb fitting and no electrical components. If you require an electric version, search for wired crystal chandeliers in the Impex or Niori range.

What type of candles does it use?

The fitting accepts standard taper candles or pillar candles depending on the candle holder configuration. Use fire-safe candles rated for decorative chandelier use and ensure the chandelier is positioned away from curtains, low ceilings and other flammable materials.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 20cm drop is relatively compact, but you must allow clearance below the chandelier for safe candle operation. A minimum of 2.4m ceiling height is recommended to keep the lit candles away from head height and allow adequate air circulation around the flame.

How is the chandelier cleaned?

Remove dust from the crystal droplets with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush. For heavier cleaning, individual crystals can be removed from their brass pins, washed in warm soapy water, rinsed, dried and re-hung. Do not use chemical sprays on the antique brass frame as they may strip the oxidised patina.
