Description

The Herlow is a 32cm-diameter crystal chandelier with three BC (bayonet cap) bulb fittings housed inside a basket frame draped in faceted Strass lead crystal strands. The frame is finished in gold and suspended on a matching chain and canopy. The crystal strands cascade from a central ring at the top, forming a tent-like drop into the basket bowl below where they catch and refract light from the three bulbs.

Designed for smaller dining areas, entrance halls and bedrooms where a full-scale chandelier would overpower the space, the Herlow works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upward. The 55cm drop (including the chain and canopy) positions the basket approximately 1.9m above floor level when ceiling height is 2.4m, which suits low-ceiling flats and period conversions. The three BC bulbs can be standard filament, halogen or LED up to 60W each (bulbs sold separately).

The gold finish on the metal frame introduces warm reflections that pair well with brass door furniture, warm-toned timber floors and heritage colour schemes in Georgian and Victorian interiors. The Strass crystal is cut lead crystal manufactured to higher refractive standards than acrylic or pressed glass alternatives, producing sharper prismatic effects when the light is on. At 3kg the chandelier needs secure ceiling fixing into a joist or into a ceiling rose anchored with appropriate fixings for plasterboard or lath-and-plaster ceilings.
