Forma 8 Light Optical Glass Chandelier - Nickel

The Forma is an 8-light chandelier built around a central nickel-plated column from which eight straight arms radiate horizontally. Each arm terminates in a faceted optical glass shade housing a G9 bulb (sold separately), with the glass cut in flat facets that refract light outward through the sharp edges. The nickel frame provides a cool metallic tone that contrasts with the clear glass.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and stairhead landings with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Forma provides even overhead illumination across a 54cm diameter spread. The 34cm drop from ceiling rose to the lowest point of the glass shades suits rooms where a chandelier needs presence without hanging too low, typically leaving 2m+ clearance above a dining table or floor level. The spacing of the eight arms distributes light in a radial pattern that reduces hard shadows across the room.

The optical glass shades are moulded with flat facets rather than smooth curves, giving each shade a geometric profile that picks up and reflects ambient light even when the chandelier is switched off. The combined weight of the nickel framework and eight glass shades brings the fitting to 8kg, requiring a ceiling rose rated for that load and a secure ceiling joist or noggin anchor point. The G9 bulb format accepts halogen or LED capsules up to 33W total wattage across all eight bulbs.

What bulbs does it take?

The Forma takes eight G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. The maximum total wattage is 33W across all eight bulbs, so a typical setup uses eight 4W LED G9 capsules or eight lower-wattage halogen G9s. LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) provide the best combination of light output and longevity.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 34cm drop from ceiling rose to the lowest point of the glass shades works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Over a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 700-800mm above the table surface, leaving adequate clearance for seated diners while providing even light across the table.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs fitted. LED G9 bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible trailing-edge dimmer. Halogen G9 bulbs are universally dimmable with standard rotary or slide dimmers.

How is the optical glass cleaned?

The faceted glass shades can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For smudges or fingerprints, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works without leaving streaks. Avoid spraying glass cleaner directly onto the shades while the chandelier is installed — overspray can tarnish the nickel frame.
