Forma 4 Light Optical Glass Chandelier - Polished Nickel

The Forma is a 4-light chandelier built around a central polished nickel stem with four square arms radiating horizontally, each carrying a cylindrical optical glass shade. The four G9 bulb fittings sit inside the glass, casting light through the ribbed optical surface which refracts and softens the beam. The overall diameter is 48cm and the fitting height is 32cm, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards.

Designed for dining tables, entrance halls and home offices, the Forma provides task lighting from four individually positioned sources rather than a single central bulb. The square arm layout spreads light evenly across a 1.2-1.6m dining table or a 1.5m-wide hallway. The polished nickel finish reflects ambient light during the day and pairs with both cool-toned contemporary interiors and warmer traditional settings where chrome or stainless steel is already present.

The optical glass shades measure approximately 10cm in diameter and feature vertical ribbing on the exterior surface, which gives a faceted appearance when lit and refracts light into horizontal bands. Each shade is open at the top and bottom, allowing air circulation around the G9 bulbs and preventing heat buildup. The combined weight of glass, metal arms and central stem is 4kg, requiring a ceiling rose rated for the load and a secure fixing into a joist or ceiling batten.

What bulbs does the Forma take?

The chandelier takes four G9 capsule bulbs, each with a maximum wattage of 33W. G9 LED bulbs are widely available in 3W-5W outputs and are the most common choice for this fitting. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is the Forma dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you fit. G9 LED bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most trailing-edge dimmers, but check the bulb packaging for specific dimmer requirements. Halogen G9 capsules are naturally dimmable with standard dimmers.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 32cm fitting height means the chandelier sits relatively close to the ceiling compared to drop pendants. It works in rooms with 2.4m ceilings or higher. For dining table use, allow 700-900mm clearance between the bottom of the chandelier and the table surface.

How is the optical glass cleaned?

The ribbed glass surface traps dust in the vertical grooves. Clean with a soft microfibre cloth when the bulbs are cool and the power is off. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid spraying liquid directly onto the fitting as it can pool inside the open glass shades.
