Description

The Flessen is a 5-light chandelier built from solid brass with a gunmetal finish, featuring five scrolled arms radiating from a turned central stem and a spherical base element beneath. Each arm holds a candle-style SES bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately, max 60W per socket), and the entire fitting hangs from a matching gunmetal chain. The 58cm diameter and 43cm height give the chandelier presence without overwhelming moderate-sized dining rooms.

Designed for dining tables in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Flessen also works in sitting rooms, hallways and entrance areas where a traditional centrepiece is needed. The chain drop is adjustable on installation, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. The gunmetal finish provides a dark metallic tone that pairs with both monochrome and warm-toned interiors, offering more visual weight than polished brass or chrome.

The scrollwork on each arm is cast into the brass rather than applied, so the detailing maintains definition as the finish ages. The spherical base beneath the arms adds ballast to the visual composition and echoes traditional Dutch-style brass chandeliers from the 17th and 18th centuries. At 3kg the fitting has sufficient weight to hang stably on the chain without swaying under air movement, but installation into a standard UK ceiling rose with appropriate fixings is straightforward.
