Description
The Beveran is a 6-light solid brass chandelier built around a central turned stem with six scrolled arms, each terminating in a candle-cup BC bulb holder. The entire frame is finished in polished brass, which gives a mirror-like reflective surface that catches and multiplies light from the six bulbs (sold separately, BC base, max 60W each).
Designed for formal dining rooms, entrance halls and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Beveran sits at 56cm diameter and 60cm drop from ceiling rose to finial, occupying enough volume to anchor a 3m x 3.5m dining table or a 2m-wide hallway without overwhelming the space. The 4kg weight requires a suitable ceiling rose and fixing rated for the load. The scrolled arms distribute the six light sources evenly around the central axis, providing general illumination rather than directed task light.
The polished brass finish is achieved by buffing the solid brass frame to a high shine, which shows fingerprints and requires occasional cleaning with a brass polish to maintain the reflective quality. The finish works in heritage interiors, Georgian and Victorian conversions, and contemporary spaces using warm metallics as accent tones. Each arm follows a double-scroll curve from the central stem to the bulb holder, with turned detailing on the stem and finial that references 18th-century European chandelier design without copying a specific historical pattern.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Beveran take?
The chandelier takes six BC (B22 bayonet cap) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers use warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional look with lower running costs.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 60cm drop from ceiling rose to finial, plus the 56cm diameter, means the chandelier works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In a dining room the bottom of the chandelier typically sits 700-900mm above the table surface, which requires a 2.8-3m ceiling for comfortable clearance.
How is the polished brass maintained?
Polished brass tarnishes over time when exposed to air and moisture. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth weekly to remove dust. For tarnish, use a specialist brass polish applied with a soft cloth, buffing in circular motions. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which scratch the polished surface.
Is the chandelier dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you fit. LED bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible dimmer. Traditional incandescent or halogen BC bulbs dim on most standard dimmers without issue.
