Description

The Bellara is a single-light crystal chandelier built around a polished nickel scrollwork frame with cascading Strass lead crystal droplets. The frame carries four curved nickel arms extending from a central core, each terminating in a scroll motif, with crystal pendalogues hanging from both the core and the outer scrolls. A single BC (bayonet cap) lampholder sits at the centre, accepting bulbs up to 60W.

Designed for compact spaces where full-scale chandeliers would overwhelm, the Bellara works in hallways, landings, bedrooms, dressing rooms and above kitchen islands where ceiling height allows for the 32cm drop. The 25cm diameter keeps the fitting visible without dominating narrower spaces. The polished nickel finish provides a cool silver tone that pairs with both contemporary greys and traditional white-painted interiors, while the lead crystal droplets catch and refract available light from the central bulb.

The scrollwork frame is pressed and formed metal rather than cast, keeping the weight to 1kg — light enough for installation on plasterboard ceilings with appropriate fixings. Each crystal droplet is facet-cut Strass lead crystal, meaning it contains at least 24% lead oxide for higher refractive index and more pronounced prismatic colour dispersion compared to standard glass. The frame's polished finish shows fingerprints and water marks, so handling during installation should be done with clean gloves.

What bulb does the Bellara take?

The chandelier takes a single BC (B22 bayonet cap) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K for bedroom or hallway use.

Can it be fitted to a plasterboard ceiling?

Yes. At 1kg the Bellara is light enough for plasterboard installation using appropriate spring toggle fixings or cavity anchors rated to 5kg or higher. Installation on a joist or noggin is preferable where ceiling access allows.

How is the crystal maintained?

The Strass lead crystal droplets can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth when dusty. For deeper cleaning, individual droplets can be removed from their hooks, washed in warm water with a drop of washing-up liquid, rinsed and dried with a lint-free cloth before re-hanging.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 32cm drop from ceiling rose to the bottom of the crystal requires a minimum ceiling height of around 2.2m to avoid head clearance issues in circulation areas. In bedrooms or areas away from foot traffic, lower ceilings are acceptable.
