The Zavien is a 6-arm chandelier built from clear Czech glass with polished chrome metalwork, measuring 61cm in diameter and 56cm in height. Six upward-curving arms radiate from a central glass column, each terminating in a clear glass bobeche (decorative drip plate) that holds a single SES (small Edison screw) candle bulb. The glass components are hand-blown in the Czech Republic using traditional Bohemian glassmaking techniques.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m, the Zavien suits spaces where a chandelier needs to provide both ambient light and decorative presence without overwhelming the room. The 61cm diameter works above dining tables between 1.2m and 1.8m long, or in square entrance halls between 3m and 4m across. The chain is adjustable on installation, allowing the drop to be set between 600mm and 1200mm from the ceiling rose to the top of the glass body depending on ceiling height and room proportion.

The clear glass allows maximum light transmission from the six bulbs (sold separately), with the upward orientation of the arms directing light towards the ceiling to create ambient wash rather than direct downlight. The polished chrome canopy, chain and arm framework provide structural contrast against the transparency of the glass, and the chrome finish pairs with both warm-toned and cool-toned interiors. At 11kg the chandelier requires a secure ceiling fixing with a joist plate or cavity anchor rated for the full suspended weight.

What bulbs does the Zavien take?

The chandelier takes six SES (E14, small Edison screw) candle bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 4-6W LED candle bulbs in 2700K warm white for ambient dining room lighting, or decorative filament-style LED candles for a vintage look.

What ceiling height is needed?

The Zavien suits ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m. The chain is adjustable on installation, allowing the chandelier body to hang between 600mm and 1200mm below the ceiling rose. For a dining table, the chandelier typically sits 750-900mm above the table surface.

Can it be fitted to a standard UK ceiling rose?

Yes. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses. However, at 11kg the chandelier must be fixed to a secure point — either directly into a ceiling joist, or using a cavity anchor rated for at least 15kg if fixing into plasterboard. Do not rely on a standard plastic ceiling rose fixing alone.

Is the glass hand-blown?

Yes. The clear glass components are hand-blown in the Czech Republic using traditional Bohemian glassmaking methods. This means slight variations in glass thickness and form are normal between individual pieces, and are a characteristic of hand-blown production rather than a defect.
