Description

The Verdale is a 42cm square flush ceiling light with four separate glass cubes arranged in a grid pattern on a polished chrome backplate. Each cube contains a wireframe cage visible through the clear glass outer shell, creating a doubled visual texture when the light is on. The fitting projects 15cm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or lower where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms with low ceilings, the Verdale provides even light distribution across a 3m x 3m floor area. The four separate light sources reduce shadowing compared to a single central bulb, and the chrome backplate reflects additional light upward onto the ceiling. The flush mount fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose with the backplate concealing the ceiling junction box once installed.

Each of the four glass modules houses one G9 bulb socket (bulbs sold separately, maximum 33W combined across all four sockets). The wireframe insert inside each glass cube casts geometric shadows onto surrounding walls when lit, adding depth to otherwise flat ceiling planes. The polished chrome finish pairs with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and modern metallic interiors, while the clear glass keeps the visual weight low despite the 3.3kg actual weight of the fitting.

What bulbs does the Verdale take?

The fitting uses four G9 capsule bulbs with a combined maximum wattage of 33W. Most users fit four G9 LED bulbs rated at 3-5W each in warm white (2700K-3000K). Bulbs are sold separately.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 15cm projection from ceiling to base of the glass cubes makes this fitting suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above. In rooms with 2.4m ceilings or higher, the Verdale sits comfortably overhead without intruding into head space.

Can it be fitted to a sloped ceiling?

No. The square chrome backplate is designed to sit flat against a horizontal ceiling. Fitting to a sloped ceiling would cause the glass cubes to hang at an angle and would create an uneven visual appearance.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool fully. The glass cubes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner. The wireframe inside each cube is sealed within the glass and does not require separate cleaning.
