Description

The Tides is a 38cm flush ceiling light with a matt black and brushed gold circular frame surrounding four E14 bulb fittings, beneath which hang graduated layers of faceted crystal drops. The 24.5cm total height keeps the fitting close to the ceiling plane, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or lower where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, entrance halls, bedrooms and smaller living rooms where ceiling clearance is limited, the Tides provides both functional light from the four bulbs and decorative sparkle from the crystal tiers. The matt black outer rings contrast with brushed gold inner bands, adding warmth to monochrome or neutral interiors. The crystal drops refract light from the bulbs, scattering soft reflections across the ceiling and walls when lit.

The circular frame measures 38cm in diameter, giving the fitting enough presence for spaces up to 12-15m² without overwhelming narrow hallways. The 4.5kg weight requires fixing into a ceiling joist or using appropriate anchors in plasterboard ceilings. Each E14 fitting accepts candle-style bulbs up to 40W (sold separately), allowing control over light temperature and brightness depending on bulb choice.

The Tides has four E14 (small Edison screw) fittings, each accepting candle-style bulbs up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. If you fit dimmable E14 LED bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer, the Tides can be dimmed. Always confirm bulb and dimmer compatibility before installation.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The crystal drops can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while the bulbs are off and cool. For deeper cleaning, individual drops can be removed, wiped with a barely-damp cloth, dried thoroughly and re-hung. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the metal frame or electrical components.
