Talvia 5 Light Pendant/Flush Ceiling Light - Black

The Talvia is a 5-light ceiling fixture from Impex, designed to mount either as a pendant on a drop rod or flush to the ceiling depending on the room's proportions. Five clusters of cut crystal prisms sit within circular matt black metal frames, radiating from a central hub on arms that form a symmetrical star pattern. Each cluster takes an ES (E27) bulb up to 40W, sold separately.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls with standard ceiling heights of 2.4-2.7m, the Talvia works as a pendant where ceiling clearance allows the 24cm body height plus the drop rod, or flush-mounted where the 56cm diameter spread provides enough visual presence without vertical projection. The matt black frame provides contrast against white or light-coloured ceilings, while the crystal prisms refract light and add texture without the weight of a traditional crystal chandelier.

The five arms radiate evenly from the central mounting point, creating a balanced geometric footprint that reads clearly from below. The matt black finish is non-reflective, reducing glare under daylight and pairing comfortably with industrial, contemporary and modern traditional interiors. At 5.22kg the fixture requires secure ceiling fixings — the mounting hardware accommodates both pendant and flush installation methods, with the drop rod omitted when flush-mounting.

Can this be installed as both a pendant and a flush fitting?

Yes. The Talvia includes mounting hardware for both pendant installation on a drop rod and flush installation directly to the ceiling. When flush-mounted, the 24cm body height projects down from the ceiling; when pendant-mounted, the drop rod adds adjustable length above the 24cm body.

What bulbs does it take?

The fixture takes five ES (E27) bulbs, each rated up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs at 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining and bedroom applications.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

When flush-mounted, the 24cm height projects down from the ceiling, so rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above can accommodate it comfortably. For ceilings below 2.4m, consider whether the projection leaves adequate headroom in circulation areas.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe the crystal prisms with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking or spraying chemical cleaners directly onto the fixture.
