Description
The Streamlight is a 6-light crystal chandelier built on an antique brass framework of arched rods that cascade Strass crystals in vertical strands, creating a waterfall effect across a 47cm diameter. Six BC (B22 bayonet) bulb fittings sit inside the central dome, each rated to 40W maximum, with the crystals refracting the light into the space below.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and bedrooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or higher, the chandelier hangs on a chain-and-ceiling rose fitting that can be adjusted during installation. The 52cm drop from canopy to lowest crystal is typical for medium-height ceilings, positioning the fitting 700-900mm above a dining table or 1.8-2m above hall flooring depending on the room. The antique brass finish carries a warmer, slightly darker tone than polished brass, pairing with traditional interiors, heritage schemes and transitional styles that mix period and contemporary elements.
Each Strass crystal is facet-cut to maximise light refraction — when the bulbs are on, the crystals throw small points of reflected light onto surrounding walls and ceilings. The combined weight of the brass framework and crystals gives the chandelier an 8kg mass, requiring a ceiling rose or mounting point rated to at least 10kg for safe installation. The arched rod structure forms a shallow dome rather than a tight sphere, giving the chandelier a softer profile that suits rooms with arched doorways or curved architectural features.
The antique brass finish develops a natural patina over time, deepening the warm tone. Cleaning is done by switching off the power, wiping the brass gently with a dry microfibre cloth, and using a barely-damp cloth for the crystals. Avoid spraying water or cleaner directly onto the fitting — residue can dull the brass and leave streaks on the crystal facets.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The chandelier takes six BC (B22 bayonet cap) bulbs, each up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a soft ambient glow that complements the antique brass finish.
Is it dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose. If you use dimmable LED BC bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer switch, the chandelier can be dimmed. The fitting itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 52cm drop from canopy to lowest crystal works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. For dining tables, the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above the table surface. Lower ceilings may still accommodate the fitting if the chain is shortened during installation.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Switch off the power at the fuse box. Wipe each crystal with a barely-damp microfibre cloth, then dry immediately with a clean dry cloth to prevent water spots. For the brass framework, use a dry cloth only — water can accelerate patina development on antique brass finishes.
