Description

The Streamlight is a 60cm diameter crystal chandelier with six BC bulb fittings arranged on antique nickel arms that arch outward from a central column before cascading downward under the weight of hundreds of Strass crystal droplets. Each arm supports a vertical column of elongated crystal prisms interspersed with smaller cut beads, creating a waterfall effect that extends 50cm from top to bottom.

Designed for dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, double-height entrance halls and formal reception areas, the chandelier provides both ambient light through the six bulbs (sold separately, maximum 40W each) and decorative light refracted through the crystal layers. The 9.25kg weight requires a ceiling rose capable of supporting at least 12kg and the fitting includes a chain suspension for adjustable drop height. The antique nickel finish is a satin-textured alloy with deliberate oxidation that gives it a darker, aged tone compared to polished or brushed nickel.

The Strass crystals are machine-cut lead glass with faceted edges that catch and split light into spectrum colours when the chandelier is lit or in daylight. The combination of long icicle-shaped prisms and smaller octagonal beads creates layered depth, so the chandelier appears denser and more three-dimensional from below than from the side. The antique nickel metalwork recedes visually once the crystals are catching light, allowing the crystal structure to dominate the visual presence.

What bulbs does the Streamlight take?

The chandelier has six BC (bayonet cap, B22) fittings, each rated to a maximum of 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with six warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for ambient dining room light.

What ceiling height is needed?

The chandelier itself is 50cm tall, and with chain suspension the total drop can be adjusted on installation. For dining tables the fixture typically hangs 750-850mm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the chandelier if the chain is shortened during fitting.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe each crystal droplet individually with a dry microfibre cloth, or use a barely-damp cloth for stubborn marks. Do not spray cleaning solutions directly onto the chandelier or submerge crystals in water.

Can the chandelier be installed on a sloped ceiling?

The chain suspension allows the chandelier to hang vertically from sloped ceilings up to approximately 30 degrees. Steeper slopes may require a specialist ceiling rose adapter to ensure the chain hangs plumb.
