Each arm holds a single SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulb holder set on a shallow drip pan, with decorative scrollwork connecting the arms to a central vertical support and pointed finial. The 310mm body height excludes the chain drop, which is adjustable on installation.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Straven works where a traditional candelabra silhouette suits the interior architecture. The open frame structure prevents the chandelier from dominating smaller rooms despite its 670mm span, while the five-point symmetry centres the fitting above rectangular dining tables or in the middle of square halls. The aged bronze finish shows tonal variation across the ironwork, with darker lowlights in the recesses of the scrolls and lighter bronze on the raised surfaces.

The wrought iron construction gives the Straven a 6kg mass that requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or reinforced ceiling rose. Each of the five bulb holders accepts up to 60W per socket (bulbs sold separately), allowing a combined 300W load if incandescent candle bulbs are used, though most installations now use 4-6W LED candle bulbs to replicate the warm flicker of traditional candles at lower running cost. Does the 6kg weight require special ceiling fixings?
