Sona 6 Light Crystal Chandelier - Chrome

The Sona is a 6-light crystal chandelier built around a polished chrome radial frame with six arms projecting outward from a central hub. Each arm ends in a clear glass globe, inside which sits a faceted crystal cube surrounding a G9 bulb fitting. The globe-within-globe construction creates a double refraction effect: light passes through the crystal cube facets, then again through the curved outer glass before reaching the room.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Sona's 63cm diameter spreads ambient light horizontally across a wide radius while its 14cm profile keeps the fitting compact in vertical space. The six-arm symmetry provides even coverage over rectangular dining tables of 1.6-2.2m length or circular tables up to 1.4m diameter. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable length is adjustable during installation.

The chrome finish is a high-polish plate that reflects surrounding colour and daylight, so the fitting reads differently depending on wall colour and natural light direction throughout the day. The clear glass globes remain transparent rather than frosted, allowing the crystal cubes inside to remain fully visible when the light is off and creating visible sparkle points when lit. At 5.8kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or suitable anchor, the weight comes primarily from the six glass globes and crystal inserts rather than the chrome frame itself.

What bulbs does the Sona take?

The fitting takes six G9 capsule bulbs, each with a maximum wattage of 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining room or bedroom lighting.

Is the Sona dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs fitted. G9 LED bulbs are available in dimmable and non-dimmable versions, check the bulb packaging before pairing with a dimmer switch.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 14cm profile suits ceilings of 2.4m and above. For dining tables the fitting typically hangs 700-800mm above the table surface, which works in standard ceiling heights without overwhelming the space.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The outer glass globes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth. The crystal cubes inside can be accessed by removing each glass globe, wipe with a dry cloth to avoid water spots. Avoid household sprays or abrasive cleaners on both glass and crystal.
