The Sona is a 155cm floor lamp built around a polished chrome column that supports three cubic crystal shades, each positioned at a different height on the stem. The shades are cut from faceted clear glass and measure approximately 100mm square, angled outward to direct light horizontally across a room rather than straight down to the floor. Each shade houses a G9 bulb (sold separately) rated up to 33W total output.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and reading corners where vertical space is available but floor area is limited, the lamp works from a compact 26cm circular base. The three-tier arrangement provides ambient rather than task lighting, with the faceted glass creating multiple points of refraction that cast fractured light patterns onto adjacent walls. The chrome stem and base add reflective metal to balance the glass, working in rooms with cool-toned interiors or as a contrast element against warmer finishes.

The stepped positioning of the three shades creates an asymmetric vertical rhythm that breaks the straight line of the column. The lamp takes three G9 capsule bulbs with a combined maximum wattage of 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED G9 bulbs at 2W-4W each for ambient lighting rather than task illumination.

Is the lamp stable on carpet?

The 26cm circular base and 5kg weight provide stability on hard floors and short-pile carpet. On thicker or shag rugs, the base may benefit from sitting on a firmer surface beneath to prevent any lean.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The faceted glass shades can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For marks or smudges, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid household glass cleaners while the bulbs are fitted, as spray can enter the bulb holder.

Does the chrome finish require maintenance?
