Solara 3 Light Crystal Floor Lamp - Gold

The Solara is a 159cm floor lamp built around a slender gold-finished column topped by a 30cm drum shade wrapped in rows of square-cut crystal prisms. Three G9 bulb fittings sit inside the shade, casting light through the crystal facets to create refracted patterns across walls and ceilings when lit.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and corners of open-plan spaces where height and visual texture are needed, the Solara provides ambient lighting rather than directed task light. The 159cm height positions the shade at approximately 145-150cm above floor level, placing the light source above seated eye-line without overwhelming a typical 240cm ceiling. The circular base spans approximately 25cm, giving stable footing on rugs and hard floors without anchoring.

The gold finish on the column and base is a warm satin tone rather than high-polish, reducing glare under daylight and pairing with warm-toned and transitional interiors. Each square crystal prism is individually set into the metal drum frame, creating a geometric grid pattern that contrasts with the smooth metal surfaces. The combined metal frame, crystal elements and circular base give the lamp a substantial 8.9kg weight that resists tipping.

The three G9 fittings accept halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to 11W each (33W total), sold separately. G9 LEDs in warm white (2700K-3000K) provide the most controlled light output through the crystals, while halogen G9s give a warmer but higher-heat option. The lamp is wired for UK 230V mains and accepts standard inline or rotary switches if added to the cable run during installation.

What bulbs does the Solara take?

The lamp takes three G9 capsule bulbs, each up to 11W (33W total). G9 bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 capsules at 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting. Halogen G9s are also compatible but run hotter.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb choice. LED G9 capsules must be marked as dimmable and paired with a compatible LED dimmer. Halogen G9s are generally dimmable with standard rotary or trailing-edge dimmers. The lamp itself has no built-in dimming function.

What ceiling height is needed?

At 159cm tall, the Solara suits rooms with standard 240cm ceilings or higher. The shade sits approximately 145-150cm above floor level, which works well in spaces where the lamp is viewed from a seated position. Lower ceilings may make the lamp feel too tall for the room.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow bulbs to cool fully before cleaning. Wipe individual crystal prisms with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or using chemical sprays that may damage the gold finish.
