Description

The Solana is a 6 light drop chandelier from Ideal Lux with six blown glass globes arranged vertically on a 520mm satin brass tube. Each globe houses a G9 bulb (sold separately) and the entire assembly hangs from a single suspension cable, making it a narrow-footprint option for narrow stairwells, double-height hallways, or above dining tables where a linear pendant would be too wide.

The amber glass globes shown in the image are hand-blown, so each sphere shows slight variation in size and tone between approximately 120-140mm diameter. The amber tint warms the light output from the six G9 bulbs, casting a golden glow suitable for dining rooms, entrance halls and hospitality settings where a warmer colour temperature is preferred. An acid-etched white glass option is also available for a cooler, more diffused light.

The 260mm diameter measurement in the specification refers to the maximum width where the outermost globes project from the central brass tube. The vertical drop of 520mm is adjustable on installation depending on ceiling height. The satin brass finish provides a mid-tone metallic surface that pairs with both warm and cool interior palettes without the high reflectivity of polished brass. The IP20 rating confines the fitting to indoor use only.

What bulbs does it take?

The Solana uses six G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G9 LED bulbs between 2W-4W at 2700K-3000K are recommended for ambient lighting. Higher wattage G9 halogens can be used but will generate more heat inside the glass globes.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. LED G9 bulbs vary in dimmer compatibility, so check the bulb specification before purchasing if dimming is required.

How is the drop length adjusted?

The 520mm measurement refers to the length of the brass tube holding the globes. The total drop from ceiling to the bottom globe is adjustable during installation by shortening the suspension cable to suit ceiling height.

What's the difference between the amber and white glass options?

The amber glass shown here adds a warm golden tone to the light output, creating a cosier atmosphere. The acid-etched white glass option provides a cooler, more neutral light with higher diffusion and is available as a separate SKU.
