Description

The Solana is a 750mm diameter semi-flush ceiling light built around a matt black circular canopy with eighteen smoked glass globes suspended on slender black metal rods at varying drop heights. Each globe houses a G9 bulb (sold separately), creating eighteen individual points of light that diffuse through the smoked Pyrex glass. The varying drop heights give the fitting a clustered, three-dimensional profile when viewed from below.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where a full pendant would hang too low, the semi-flush mounting positions the light sources closer to the ceiling than a traditional pendant while maintaining enough drop to create visual interest. The 750mm canopy diameter suits dining rooms, open-plan kitchen-living areas and entrance halls where a substantial decorative fitting is needed without dominating smaller rooms. The fitting is dimmable when paired with compatible G9 LED bulbs and a suitable dimmer switch.

The matt black finish on the frame and canopy reduces reflections under daylight, allowing the smoked glass globes to carry the visual weight of the fitting. Each globe is hand-blown Pyrex glass with a graduated smoke tone that becomes darker towards the base, filtering the light output and creating a warmer ambient glow than clear glass would produce. The fitting takes 18 x G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). Most users pair this with 3-5W G9 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient lighting. Higher wattages can be used if brighter task lighting is needed, but check the maximum wattage rating on the lamp holders.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the Solana is dimmable when used with dimmable G9 LED bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch. Non-dimmable bulbs will not respond to a dimmer and may flicker or fail prematurely on a dimmed circuit.
