The Solana 14 is an 850mm diameter circular chandelier carrying fourteen smoked Pyrex glass globes on a matt black metal ring frame. The fixture is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable G9 LED bulbs, allowing the light level to be adjusted from full task brightness to subdued ambient glow.

The smoked Pyrex glass softens the light output from the G9 bulbs and adds a grey-toned warmth that contrasts with the matt black metal frame. Each globe is hand-blown, so tonal variation and slight size differences between globes are a feature of the manufacturing process. The matt black finish on the metal ring minimises reflections and pairs well with industrial, contemporary and transitional interiors where black metalwork and exposed bulb fittings are a design feature. The combined weight of the ring, glass globes and cable suspension is approximately 6kg, requiring a secure ceiling fixing into joist or solid ceiling.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Solana takes fourteen G9 bulbs, sold separately. G9 is a compact bi-pin fitting commonly available in LED (2-5W) and halogen (25-40W) versions. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white G9 LEDs between 2700K-3000K for dining and kitchen island lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the fixture is rated as dimmable. You will need a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable G9 bulbs. Not all G9 LEDs dim smoothly, so check bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 300mm fixture height plus the suspension cable means the Solana works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For a dining table the light typically hangs 700-900mm above the table surface, and for a kitchen island 750-850mm above the worktop.

Does the smoked glass vary between globes?
