Description

The Solana 11 is an 11-light chandelier with white acid-etched glass globes mounted on a brushed brass circular frame measuring 730mm in diameter. Each globe houses a G9 bulb (sold separately), and the arrangement around the ring provides distributed light across a dining table or kitchen island without creating a single central hot-spot.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Solana 11 suits dining rooms, open-plan kitchens and hallways where you need working light rather than purely ambient glow. The 300mm drop from ceiling rose to the top of the frame can be adjusted during installation depending on room proportions. The fixture is dimmable when paired with compatible G9 LED bulbs and a suitable dimmer, allowing output to be adjusted for task lighting during meal prep or lower ambient light during dining.

The brushed brass ring frame is constructed from metal with a satin-finish brass coating, which softens reflections compared to polished brass and pairs well with warm timber, white cabinetry and neutral tones. The white acid-etched glass globes diffuse light in all directions, reducing glare while still giving enough brightness for functional task use. At 730mm diameter the fitting works in spaces where a single pendant would be too small but a large chandelier would overwhelm, such as 4-6 person dining tables or kitchen islands up to 2.5m long.

The Solana range from Ideal Lux includes variants with different globe counts (5, 8, 11) and finishes (white, black, brushed brass). This 11-light white version provides the highest light output in the family and the most distributed coverage. Each globe is individually wired, allowing flexibility to replace bulbs as needed without affecting the others. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

What bulbs does the Solana 11 take?

The fitting takes 11 G9 bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W per globe for a combined output equivalent to 330-550W halogen, giving sufficient light for dining and task use. Choose 2700K-3000K warm white for dining rooms, or 4000K neutral white for kitchens.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable. You'll need dimmable G9 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch rated for LED loads. Not all G9 LEDs dim smoothly, so check the bulb specification before purchasing if dimming is important to you.

What table size does it suit?

The 730mm diameter works well above 4-6 person rectangular dining tables (1.4-2m long) or kitchen islands up to 2.5m. For larger tables or islands, consider two Solana fittings spaced evenly, or a larger model if available in the range.

Can it be height-adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by adjusting the cable length inside the ceiling rose. Once installed, the height is fixed unless you access the ceiling rose again to shorten or lengthen the cable run.
