Solana 10 Light Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - White & Brass

The Solana is a 700mm diameter semi-flush ceiling light built around a dual-ring brass frame holding ten opal white glass globes. Each globe houses a G9 bulb (sold separately), and the globes alternate between three different sizes to create a clustered, molecular appearance when viewed from below. The brass frame sits 530mm from the ceiling, placing the light fitting in the semi-flush category rather than flush-mount.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Solana suits dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and kitchen-diners where a central fitting provides the primary ambient light. The 700mm diameter works in rooms between 12-20m² without overwhelming the space. The dimmable G9 bulbs allow light output to be adjusted from full brightness for task lighting to low output for evening ambient light, though a compatible dimmer switch is required.

The opal glass diffusers are acid-etched rather than painted, giving a translucent finish that softens the G9 bulb filaments without blocking light output entirely. The brass frame pairs the white glass with a warm metallic accent that reads as brushed gold under most domestic lighting. The alternating globe sizes range from approximately 100mm to 200mm diameter, giving the fitting visual depth when lit and creating multiple points of reflected light across the ceiling plane.

The circular frame design means the Solana reads equally well from all angles, making it suitable for positioning over a dining table or in the centre of a square or rectangular room. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations only — bathrooms, outdoor covered areas and unheated utility rooms are not suitable installation points.

Does the Solana come with bulbs?

No. The fitting requires ten G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 3W-5W LED G9 bulbs in 2700K-3000K warm white for dining and living room installations.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible G9 LED dimmer switch. Standard rotary dimmers designed for halogen bulbs may not work correctly with LED G9 capsules — check your dimmer's LED compatibility before installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 530mm projection from ceiling to lowest point of the frame makes this suitable for ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. Lower ceilings may feel crowded, particularly in smaller rooms or where people walk directly underneath the fitting.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not splash-proof or moisture-resistant, so it cannot be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, outdoor covered areas or unheated utility rooms where condensation occurs.
