Description
The Roston is a 46cm diameter crystal chandelier with six BC candle-style bulb holders arranged around a central column, dressed in concentric rows of lead Strass crystal droplets. Six arched arms curve upward from the main frame to form a crown above the central drop tier, creating a fountain-like profile when viewed from below. The antique nickel finish on the metalwork provides a darker, warmer tone than polished chrome or bright nickel.
Designed for formal dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Roston delivers layered reflection from the hundreds of individual crystal droplets. Each BC bulb (sold separately, max 60W per socket) lights the crystals from behind and below, scattering refracted light across walls and ceilings. The 40cm height suits rooms where the chandelier needs to provide presence without dominating vertical space, making it workable above dining tables in period properties with ceilings around 2.8-3.0m.
The lead Strass crystal used in the Roston has a higher refractive index than standard glass or acrylic, meaning sharper prismatic effects and brighter sparkle when lit. The antique nickel finish on the frame sits between polished chrome and oil-rubbed bronze tonally, pairing well with aged brass hardware, darker wood furniture and interiors that favour patinated metallics over high-shine finishes. At 3kg total weight the chandelier requires a ceiling capable of supporting the load plus a safety margin, typically a solid joist or reinforced plasterboard fixing.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Roston take?
Six BC (B22 bayonet cap) bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this chandelier with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional glow without excessive heat output.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 40cm height suits ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. For dining table installation the chandelier typically hangs 750-900mm above the table surface, which requires a ceiling height of approximately 2.8-3.0m to maintain adequate headroom below the fitting.
What is lead Strass crystal?
Lead Strass crystal contains a percentage of lead oxide, giving it a higher refractive index than standard glass. This produces sharper prismatic effects and brighter sparkle when light passes through the droplets. The term 'Strass' refers to the specific cutting and polishing method used on the crystal facets.
How is the chandelier cleaned?
Switch off power at the consumer unit before cleaning. Wipe each crystal droplet individually with a dry microfibre cloth, working from top to bottom. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but dry each crystal immediately to prevent water spotting. Do not use ammonia-based glass cleaners or spray the fitting while assembled.
