Description
The Panasonic Pro Power is an AA alkaline battery delivering 1.5V output across a wide range of household and portable devices. This 4+4 pack contains eight individual AA cells (also designated LR6 in international classifications), each using alkaline chemistry for longer shelf life and more consistent discharge compared to zinc-carbon batteries.
Designed for medium-drain devices such as remote controls, cordless mice and keyboards, wall clocks, torches, and portable radios, the Pro Power range sits between Panasonic's Everyday Power entry-level cells and the Xtreme Power premium range. The batteries perform reliably in both continuous-use devices (clocks, smoke alarms) and intermittent-drain devices (remote controls, game controllers) without the voltage drop characteristic of cheaper zinc-carbon cells.
Each cell measures the standard 50.5mm length and 14.5mm diameter common to all AA batteries, fitting any device marked for AA, LR6, or Mignon cells. The 4+4 blister pack splits into two four-packs, allowing half to be stored unopened while the other half is in use. Panasonic's production process for this range reduces volatile organic compound emissions compared to older manufacturing methods, though specific environmental certifications are not claimed on the packaging.

Frequently Asked
What devices are these batteries best suited for?
The Pro Power range works well in medium-drain devices such as remote controls, wireless mice and keyboards, wall clocks, LED torches, portable radios, and game controllers. They are not optimised for high-drain devices like digital cameras or camera flashes, where rechargeable NiMH cells or lithium primaries perform better.
How long do these batteries last in storage?
Alkaline batteries typically retain 80-90% of their charge after five years of storage at room temperature. Store unopened batteries in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources to maximise shelf life.
Are these batteries rechargeable?
No. These are single-use alkaline cells and must not be recharged. Attempting to recharge non-rechargeable alkaline batteries can cause leakage, rupture or fire. If you need rechargeable AA cells, look for NiMH batteries rated at 1.2V nominal voltage.
What does LR6 mean?
LR6 is the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) designation for AA-size alkaline batteries. The same cell may also be labelled as AA, Mignon, or HR6 (if rechargeable NiMH). All these designations refer to the same physical size and 1.5V nominal voltage.
