Description

The Norden is a 14-light spiral crystal chandelier that descends 142cm from a flush-mounted chrome canopy measuring 50cm in diameter. Crystal prisms hang in a tiered spiral formation around fourteen SES bulb holders, creating a cascading effect as light refracts through the faceted glass. The chrome-finished metal frame runs vertically through the centre of the spiral, anchoring each tier of crystal strands.

Designed for entrance halls, stairwells and double-height spaces with ceiling clearances of 3m or above, the Norden fits a standard ceiling rose but requires sufficient vertical space for the 142cm drop. The flush canopy keeps the fitting tight to the ceiling plane, so the spiral extends downward rather than projecting into the room. Each of the fourteen SES bulbs (sold separately) can be up to 40W, allowing the fixture to provide both ambient and decorative light depending on bulb choice and dimmer use.

What ceiling height is needed for the Norden?

The 142cm drop suits rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above. In a standard 2.4m ceiling height room, the bottom of the chandelier would hang less than 1m from the floor, which is too low for safe passage in most spaces. The Norden is designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells and vaulted ceilings.

What bulbs does it take?

The Norden takes fourteen SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K are the most common pairing for this type of chandelier, providing sufficient light output without excessive glare through the crystal.

Can it be installed on a plasterboard ceiling?

No. At 18kg the Norden must be fixed directly into a ceiling joist or mounted to a suitable structural anchor point. Plasterboard alone will not support this weight safely. Professional installation is recommended to confirm the ceiling structure can handle the load.

Is the Norden dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. LED SES bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most trailing-edge dimmers, but confirm compatibility between your specific dimmer model and bulb choice before installation.
