Description

The LumiLife Indoor Twin Spot Bulkhead is a non-maintained emergency LED unit with two adjustable spot heads, each fitted with a 2.5W LED module behind a prismatic polycarbonate lens. The unit delivers 25 lumens total output in emergency mode (battery power during mains failure) and 35 lumens when running on mains power. Both heads emit 6500K daylight white light for high visibility in low-light conditions.

Designed for commercial buildings, industrial premises, plant rooms and internal escape routes, the bulkhead operates on 220-240V AC mains supply and automatically switches to battery backup when mains power is lost. Non-maintained operation means the LED heads only illuminate during power failure or when manually tested — they do not run continuously on mains power, reducing energy draw and extending component lifespan. The twin heads can be angled independently to direct light towards exits, stairwells or corridor junctions.

The white ABS housing measures approximately 210mm wide by 140mm high with a 70mm projection from the wall once mounted. The IP20 rating limits the unit to dry indoor environments such as warehouses, back-of-house areas, service corridors and non-public zones where moisture ingress is not a concern. The adjustable heads and compact footprint allow the bulkhead to be positioned in confined spaces where a traditional emergency fitting would not fit.

Frequently Asked

What does non-maintained mean?

Non-maintained emergency lights only illuminate during a power cut or when the test button is pressed. They do not run on mains power under normal conditions, which saves energy and extends battery and LED lifespan. Maintained emergency lights, by contrast, are always lit on mains power and switch to battery during a failure.

How long does the battery backup last?

Most non-maintained emergency fittings provide 3 hours of battery backup as required by UK BS 5266 regulations. Check the Downloads tab for the product specification sheet to confirm the exact duration for this model.

Can the heads be adjusted after installation?

Yes. Both LED heads are mounted on adjustable brackets that allow them to be angled and rotated once the unit is fixed to the wall, so you can direct light towards exits, stairwells or other critical areas.

Is this suitable for outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the unit is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor environments. For outdoor emergency lighting, look for fittings rated IP65 or higher.
