The Lumen is a 10-light semi-flush ceiling fitting with a polished chrome canopy from which ten matt black curved arms radiate outwards, each terminating in a clear glass globe with a G9 bulb fitting inside. The 79cm diameter spread and 56cm drop from ceiling to lowest point make it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where a pendant would hang too low but flush-mounted fittings lack presence.

Designed for open-plan living rooms, hallways and dining areas where the fitting will be viewed from multiple angles, the radial structure works best when centred under a ceiling void or positioned as the focal point of a square room. Each of the ten arms curves outward and upward from the chrome canopy, creating a dynamic asymmetrical silhouette when viewed from the side. The matt black finish on the arms absorbs light and provides graphic contrast against the reflective chrome base and clear glass globes.

The clear glass spheres show the G9 bulb capsules inside, so pairing the fitting with warm-white LED G9s (2700K-3000K, sold separately) gives the best visual result. The combined weight of 3.7kg requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or onto a ceiling plate rated for the load. The polished chrome canopy reflects ceiling tones and surrounding light, while the matt black arms give the fitting architectural definition without the heaviness of an all-black frame.

What bulbs does the Lumen take?

The fitting uses ten G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9s between 2.5-4W and 2700K-3000K. The clear glass globes show the bulb capsules, so choosing a compact LED G9 with minimal visible circuitry gives the cleanest appearance.

What ceiling height is required?

The 56cm drop from ceiling to lowest glass globe suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In lower-ceilinged rooms the fitting may feel intrusive, particularly in circulation spaces like hallways where headroom matters.

Is the Lumen dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulbs you install. Most dimmable LED G9s work with standard trailing-edge dimmers, but check the bulb packaging to confirm. The fitting itself has no integrated dimming function.

How is the fitting cleaned?

The polished chrome canopy can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth. The matt black arms resist fingerprints but benefit from occasional dusting with a dry cloth. The clear glass globes can be unscrewed (with bulbs removed) and washed in warm soapy water, then dried before refitting.
