The Luma is a 55cm square flush ceiling light built around eight G9 bulb fittings concealed within three descending tiers of pyramid-cut crystal drops, mounted on a polished chrome canopy. Each crystal element is faceted into a cone shape and hangs on a clear cable, creating a structured grid of reflective surfaces that diffract light across the room. The total drop from ceiling to lowest crystal is 43cm, making this a semi-flush design rather than a fully recessed flush fitting.

Designed for rooms with standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m and above, the Luma works in dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls where a flush or semi-flush fitting is needed due to ceiling height but decorative impact is still wanted. The square footprint and tiered drop give the fitting presence over a dining table or in the centre of a square or rectangular room. The chrome canopy reflects both the ceiling and the crystals above it, doubling the visual density of the piece when viewed from below.

The stepped arrangement of crystals means the light from the eight G9 bulbs (sold separately, max 28W total across all eight) passes through multiple layers of faceted glass before reaching the room, creating diffused ambient light rather than harsh direct downlight. The 13kg weight requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced mounting point — the chrome canopy distributes this load across four fixing points. The Luma takes eight G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately) with a maximum combined load of 28W across all eight fittings. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs rated at 2-4W each in warm white (2700K-3000K) for general ambient lighting.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 43cm drop from ceiling to lowest crystal point means the fitting works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In a 2.4m room the crystals will hang approximately 2m above floor level, which clears head height in circulation areas.

How is the 13kg weight supported?

The chrome canopy has four fixing points. Installation requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or a reinforced mounting point capable of supporting 13kg. Standard plasterboard fixings are not adequate — contact a qualified electrician if unsure about the ceiling structure.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The pyramid-cut crystals can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while the fitting is switched off and cool. For heavier dust build-up, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystal or allowing water to run into the bulb fittings. Do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on the chrome or crystal.
