Luma 12 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Chrome

The Luma is a 75cm flush ceiling light with twelve G9 bulb fittings arranged beneath a dome of faceted cut crystals, set into a polished chrome circular frame. The chrome backplate mounts directly to the ceiling, giving a 26cm projection that accommodates the crystal cascade without requiring the clearance a pendant or semi-flush would need.

Designed for living rooms, large bedrooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a chandelier would hang too low, the Luma provides the light coverage and decorative impact of a centrepiece fitting in a form that suits low ceilings. The twelve G9 bulbs (sold separately) combine to deliver bright ambient light across a typical 4m x 5m room, while the faceted crystals refract and scatter the light into dynamic patterns on walls and ceilings.

The polished chrome frame gives a cool metallic finish that pairs with contemporary and transitional interiors using grey, white and cooler colour schemes. The crystal dome is built from individual hand-cut glass elements strung on chrome wire frames, creating a layered structure that refracts light in multiple directions when the bulbs are on. At 17.9kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixings into joists or a substantial ceiling rose rated for the weight.

What bulbs does it take?

The Luma takes twelve G9 capsule bulbs with a maximum wattage of 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 3-5W LED G9 capsules in warm white (2700K-3000K) for adequate ambient light without excessive heat buildup inside the crystal dome.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 26cm projection from ceiling to base of crystal dome suits standard UK ceiling heights of 2.3-2.4m, leaving approximately 2m of clearance beneath the fitting. This makes it a practical choice for rooms where a pendant chandelier would hang too low.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulbs to cool completely. Wipe each crystal element with a dry microfibre cloth. For more thorough cleaning, individual crystals can be removed from their wire frames, wiped with a barely-damp cloth using distilled water, dried immediately, and re-hung. Do not use household glass cleaners or chemical sprays on the crystals.

What ceiling fixings are needed?

At 17.9kg the Luma requires secure fixings into ceiling joists or a robust ceiling rose rated for the weight. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. If installing onto a hollow ceiling, use cavity anchors rated to at least 25kg or locate the ceiling joists and fix directly into solid timber.
