Description

The Lucent is an 8-light crystal chandelier from Impex, built around a polished chrome central column with eight upward-curving arms that each carry an SES bulb holder in a candle-style fitting. Cut-crystal droplets hang from the arms and from strands attached to the central column, catching and reflecting light across the room when bulbs are lit.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the 80cm diameter and 65cm body height give the chandelier a presence that suits 3-4m square floor spaces. The chrome finish reflects surrounding light during the day and amplifies the effect of the bulbs at night, making the fitting act as both a light source and a reflective centrepiece. The chandelier pairs with formal dining setups and works equally well in contemporary interiors where a statement ceiling fitting is needed.

Each arm curves outward from the centre column in a symmetrical arrangement, with the bulb holders positioned at the ends to distribute light evenly across a table or floor area below. What bulbs does it take?

The chandelier uses eight SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs in the 4-6W range and 2700K-3000K colour temperature for a warm ambient glow.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 65cm body height plus the chain and canopy add further drop, so typical installation requires ceiling heights of 2.7m or above to hang the chandelier at a comfortable height above a dining table (typically 700-900mm clearance from table to chandelier base). Lower ceilings can accommodate the fitting if the chain is shortened during installation.

How is the crystal cleaned?

The cut-crystal droplets collect dust over time. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth while the chandelier is switched off and cool. For more thorough cleaning, individual droplets can be removed from their wire hangers, cleaned with a barely-damp cloth and distilled water, then dried and re-hung.

Can the ceiling support the weight?

At 6.9kg the Lucent requires a ceiling rose and fixation point rated for at least 10kg. Standard plasterboard ceilings without additional bracing are typically insufficient — the chandelier should be fixed to a joist or a braced ceiling rose designed for heavy fittings. Consult a qualified electrician if unsure.
