The Lucca is a 162cm-drop stairwell chandelier built around fifteen SES bulb fittings set within seven tiers of faceted lead crystal bars suspended on a polished chrome frame. The crystal bars are arranged in concentric rings around a central chrome column, with each tier graduating in diameter to create a tapered cylindrical form that narrows towards the base. The 33cm diameter keeps the chandelier compact enough for stairwells and entrance halls where horizontal space is limited but vertical volume needs filling.

Designed specifically for double-height staircases, split-level landings and entrance foyers with 4-6m ceiling heights, the Lucca anchors vertical space without blocking sightlines. The tiered crystal configuration allows light from the fifteen bulbs to refract through multiple layers of cut glass, casting prismatic patterns on surrounding walls and balustrades. The chandelier weighs 32kg, requiring secure ceiling joists and professional installation on a reinforced ceiling rose rated for the combined weight.

Each of the fifteen bulb positions takes a small Edison screw (SES) candle bulb up to 40W, sold separately. What bulbs does it take?

The Lucca takes fifteen small Edison screw (SES) candle bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K are the most common choice, providing sufficient light across all fifteen fittings without excessive heat or energy use.

Can the height be adjusted?

The 162cm drop is fixed and cannot be shortened without altering the tiered crystal structure. The chandelier is designed to fill vertical space in tall voids, so it is not suitable for standard 2.4m ceiling heights.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Lead crystal should be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while the bulbs are switched off and cool. For deeper cleaning, remove individual crystal bars (most designs allow this) and wash in warm water with mild washing-up liquid, then dry thoroughly before re-hanging. Do not use ammonia-based cleaners or abrasive cloths, as they can scratch the faceted surface.
