Description
The Llueve is a 70cm wide by 140cm high acrylic painting on stretched canvas, depicting figures walking with umbrellas in a rainy cityscape. The composition uses textured acrylic in muted greys and whites with selective orange accents on several umbrellas, while silver leaf applied to the upper two-thirds of the canvas creates a reflective metallic surface that suggests rain falling through urban light.
Designed for vertical installation in hallways, staircases, office reception areas and transitional spaces where narrow wall width and tall vertical reach suit the dimensions, the painting arrives on a 3.5cm-deep stretcher frame ready to hang. The silver leaf catches and reflects ambient light differently depending on viewing angle and time of day, giving the piece a subtle movement that shifts as you walk past it. The 2.14kg weight can be supported on two D-rings or wire across standard plasterboard with appropriate fixings.
Each figure in the composition is rendered as a silhouette with minimal facial detail, allowing the focus to sit on the umbrellas, the rain texture, and the interplay between the matt acrylic and the reflective silver leaf. The orange umbrellas provide visual anchors that draw the eye through the vertical composition without overwhelming the cooler grey-and-silver palette. The painting is signed 'Jumer' in the lower right corner and comes from Schuller's contemporary wall art collection manufactured in Spain.

Frequently Asked
Does the silver leaf require special care?
Silver leaf is applied to the canvas surface and sealed with acrylic medium. Avoid touching the metallic areas directly as oils from skin can leave marks. Dust gently with a soft dry cloth or use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum set to low suction. Do not use water, glass cleaner or household sprays on the silver leaf.
Can it be hung horizontally?
The composition is designed to be viewed vertically, with the rain falling from top to bottom and the figures oriented upright. Hanging it horizontally would disrupt the intended narrative and visual flow of the piece.
Is the canvas already stretched and ready to hang?
Yes. The painting arrives on a 3.5cm-deep wooden stretcher frame with the canvas already tensioned. You will need to add your own hanging hardware (D-rings, wire or direct wall fixings) as these are not included.
What wall colour works best behind this piece?
The grey and silver tones in the painting read most clearly against white, off-white or very light grey walls. Darker walls can work but may reduce the contrast and make the silver leaf harder to appreciate in lower light conditions.
