Description
The Liora is a 12 light flush ceiling fitting built on a rectangular polished chrome frame approximately 90cm wide, with three tiers of faceted crystal prisms cascading from the baseplate. Each tier holds cut crystal rods and drops that refract light from twelve G9 bulb positions arranged around the perimeter of the frame, turning the ceiling plane into a source of reflected sparkle.
Designed for low-ceiling rooms where a traditional chandelier would hang too low, the Liora projects just 27cm below the ceiling once fitted. This makes it suitable for living rooms, dining rooms and hallways in modern homes and flats with 2.3-2.5m ceiling heights, where maximum headroom is needed but a crystal fitting is still wanted. The rectangular footprint works particularly well over oblong dining tables and in hallway runs, where a round fitting would leave dead space at the ends.
The three-tier crystal arrangement gives depth without bulk. The upper tier sits closest to the chrome baseplate, with middle and lower tiers stepping down in stages to create layered refraction. Each crystal rod is individually hung, so the fitting arrives partially disassembled and requires threading each piece onto its designated hook during installation. The polished chrome frame reflects some of the refracted light back into the crystals, amplifying the sparkle effect. At 19.5kg the fitting requires ceiling joists or a spreading plate — standard plasterboard fixings will not hold the load safely.
The twelve G9 bulb positions accept halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to 28W each (sold separately). Most installers pair this with twelve 3-5W LED G9 capsules in warm white (2700K-3000K) to keep the total system load under 60W while maintaining enough brightness for a primary room light. The flush baseplate covers a standard UK ceiling rose, and the chrome finish pairs with both contemporary interiors and traditional spaces updated with modern metallic accents.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Liora takes twelve G9 capsule bulbs up to 28W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users install twelve 3-5W LED G9 capsules in warm white (2700K-3000K) to keep total system wattage below 60W while providing sufficient brightness for primary room lighting.
What ceiling height is needed?
The fitting projects 27cm below the ceiling once installed. It works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above, making it suitable for modern flats and homes with standard or low ceilings where a suspended chandelier would hang too low.
How is it installed with that weight?
At 19.5kg the Liora must be fixed into ceiling joists or onto a spreading plate that distributes the load across multiple joist positions. Standard plasterboard cavity fixings will not hold this weight safely. Professional installation is recommended.
Does the crystal need to be assembled?
Yes. The fitting arrives with the crystals partially disassembled to prevent damage in transit. Each crystal rod and drop must be threaded onto its designated hook on the chrome frame during installation. Allow 45-60 minutes for assembly and fitting.
