Description

The Kira is a 46cm diameter crystal chandelier with five G9 bulb fittings set within a cascade of faceted crystal drops hanging from curved antique brass arms. The arms spiral outward from a central column, each draped with strands of clear crystal spheres and teardrops that layer in tiers below the frame. The antique brass finish carries a muted, aged patina rather than a high polish.

Designed for dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Kira provides ambient light filtered through the crystal layers. The 43cm overall height (excluding chain) allows the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table surface without obstructing sightlines across the table. The five G9 fittings take capsule bulbs up to 28W each, sold separately, giving control over colour temperature and brightness.

The crystal drops are individually wired onto the brass frame, creating a dense curtain of faceted glass that catches both natural daylight and artificial light after dark. The antique brass arms show deliberate darkening in the recesses of the metalwork, giving the frame a vintage appearance that pairs with traditional and transitional interiors. At 10kg the chandelier requires a ceiling fixing rated for the full suspended weight plus chain.

What bulbs does the Kira take?

The chandelier takes five G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 28W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for general dining room lighting.

What room size does it suit?

The 46cm diameter works in dining rooms and bedrooms measuring 3m x 3m or larger. Smaller rooms can accommodate the chandelier but may feel visually dominated by the crystal layers.

How is the chandelier installed?

The 10kg weight requires a ceiling fixing rated for at least 15kg when accounting for chain and dynamic loading. The chandelier must be wired by a qualified electrician and fixed to a joist or into a load-bearing ceiling with appropriate anchors.

Can the crystal drops be removed for cleaning?

The crystal drops are individually wired onto the brass frame. They can be wiped in place with a microfibre cloth, but removing them for cleaning requires careful unwiring and rewiring of each strand. Most maintenance is done by wiping the crystals while still fitted to the chandelier.
