Description
The Frylia is a 70cm diameter Georgian-style chandelier with ten candle-style arms arranged in two tiers around a polished chrome frame, each arm hung with precision-cut lead crystal drops, pendants and swags. The central stem supports an ornate chrome top section with scrollwork detailing, and the whole fitting suspends from a matching chrome canopy and chain. Each of the ten arms takes an SES candle bulb up to 60W (bulbs sold separately).
Designed for dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, entrance halls with double-height ceilings, and staircases where the 79cm drop can be appreciated from multiple levels, the Frylia pairs decorative mass with vertical clarity. The two-tier arrangement places five arms in the lower ring and five in the upper, creating depth when viewed from below. The chandelier weighs 15kg once fully assembled, requiring a reinforced ceiling fixing point and a minimum chain rating to match.
The lead crystal is hand-cut in a traditional Georgian style, with faceted almond drops, pear-shaped pendants, and small linking beads that catch and refract both natural daylight and candlelight once the bulbs are lit. The polished chrome frame provides high reflectivity without the patina of aged brass or the warmth of gold plate, making the Frylia suited to cooler-toned interiors, updated classical schemes, and rooms where the crystal itself is the primary decorative feature rather than the metalwork.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Frylia take?
The chandelier takes ten SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) candle bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a soft glow that mimics traditional candlelight. Bulbs are sold separately.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 79cm drop combined with the 70cm diameter suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In dining rooms the chandelier typically hangs 750-850mm above the table surface, which requires a minimum ceiling height of 2.8m to avoid the fitting feeling too low.
Does the chandelier require reinforced ceiling support?
Yes. At 15kg the Frylia exceeds the safe load for standard plasterboard ceiling fixings. Installation requires a ceiling joist, reinforced mounting plate, or an additional support structure rated to carry at least 20kg including the chain and canopy.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Individual crystal drops can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while the chandelier is switched off and cool. For deeper cleaning, some users remove individual drops and wash them in warm water with a tiny amount of washing-up liquid, then dry them individually before rehanging. Avoid spraying the chrome frame or wiring with liquid cleaners.
