Description
The Fiora is a 6-light semi-flush ceiling fitting built around a 40cm diameter frame of hand-formed metal leaves, flowers and curving stems, all finished in antique white with a distressed patina that exposes darker undertones at the edges of each petal and leaf. Six SES bulb holders sit within the metalwork, each positioned to light through the gaps in the botanical frame rather than behind it. The fitting projects 20cm from the ceiling, with a 3cm-thick backplate that mounts flush to a standard UK ceiling rose.
Designed for bedrooms, hallways, dressing rooms and lower-ceilinged living rooms where a full chandelier would sit too low, the Fiora provides ambient light spread across the ceiling plane rather than downward task light. The 40cm spread suits rooms between 3-4m wide. The semi-flush mount keeps the fitting clear of head height in rooms with 2.3-2.5m ceilings, while the open metalwork prevents the frame from blocking too much ceiling-reflected light. Bulbs are visible through the metalwork, so decorative filament or candle-shaped SES LEDs work better visually than standard frosted bulbs.
The antique white finish is applied over the base metal and then distressed by hand, so the underlying metal shows through at raised edges, giving each leaf and flower a three-dimensional depth. The metalwork itself is formed from stamped and shaped steel components, welded and riveted at the joins, then assembled into the floral arrangement by hand. At 3kg the fitting needs secure ceiling fixing into a joist or into a cavity anchor rated for the weight. The finish pairs with French country, cottage-style, shabby chic and vintage-leaning classical interiors, particularly where other white or cream-painted furniture is already present.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Fiora take?
The fitting takes six SES (Small Edison Screw, E14 base) bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Because the bulbs are visible through the metalwork, decorative candle-shaped or filament-style LEDs give a better finished look than standard frosted bulbs.
Is the Fiora suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The 20cm projection from ceiling to lowest point of the frame makes it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above, where a pendant or chandelier would hang too low for comfortable head clearance.
Can the Fiora be fitted to a sloped ceiling?
The backplate is designed for horizontal ceiling mounting. Sloped ceilings would cause the metalwork to hang at an angle, which may affect the visual balance of the floral arrangement. Flat ceilings only are recommended.
How is the antique white finish maintained?
The distressed patina is intentional and part of the design. Dust the metalwork with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush. Avoid water or polishes, as these may alter the finish or cause streaking on the distressed areas.
