Description

The Cromwell is a 5-light iron chandelier built around a 65cm-diameter circular frame in aged bronze finish, with five upright candle-style arms radiating evenly from the central ring. Each arm sits on a shallow drip tray supported by a scrolled iron bracket, with the arms themselves terminating in SES (E14) bulb holders that accept candle bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately).

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and vaulted living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Cromwell hangs from a matching aged bronze chain. The 34.5cm drop from the ceiling rose to the base of the frame positions the chandelier 700-900mm above a dining table in typical installations, with the chain length adjustable during fitting. The 5kg weight requires secure fixing into a joist or ceiling support capable of handling the load plus the weight of five bulbs.

The aged bronze finish gives the ironwork a dark brown patina with lighter copper-brown highlights on raised edges and scroll details, mimicking decades of oxidation. What bulbs does it take?

The Cromwell takes five SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Candle-shaped LED bulbs in warm white (2700K) are the typical choice, providing the period look without the heat output of traditional filament candles. Bulbs are sold separately.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 34.5cm frame height plus the chain length positions the chandelier 700-900mm above a dining table in most installations. This works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Cromwell if the chain is shortened during fitting.

How is the aged bronze finish maintained?

Aged bronze is a factory-applied patina designed to look oxidised. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Do not use metal polish or chemical cleaners, as these will strip the aged effect and expose the base metal underneath.

Is the chain length adjustable?

Yes. The chain can be shortened on installation by removing links before final wiring. The excess chain is typically concealed inside the ceiling rose once the desired drop is set.
