Description

The Coral is an 8-light two-tier chandelier built around two stacked drum frames, each constructed from vertical clear glass rods held within matt gold metal bands. The upper tier carries four E14 bulb positions and the lower tier carries four more, creating a two-level light source suspended from a matt gold ceiling canopy on adjustable chain.

Designed for dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, entrance halls and formal living spaces, the Coral provides ambient light distributed across two horizontal planes. The 56cm diameter and 68cm drop suit tables 1.4-1.8m long when hung 700-850mm above the surface, or entrance halls where the chandelier sits centrally above a clear floor area. The glass rods diffuse light from the E14 bulbs (sold separately) across the room while the two-tier structure prevents the fitting from appearing flat from below.

Each tier contains approximately 120 individual clear glass rods mounted vertically between the gold bands, creating a ribbed translucent surface that catches daylight and refracts artificial light after dark. The matt gold finish on the metal frame softens reflections compared to polished or bright finishes, pairing with warm neutrals, oak timber and other warm-toned metals. The combined glass and metal construction gives the chandelier a substantial 13.8kg weight, requiring secure ceiling fixing into a joist or rated ceiling rose.

What bulbs does the Coral take?

The chandelier takes eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs (sold separately). Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle or golf ball bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for dining room use.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 68cm drop plus chain requires a minimum ceiling height of 2.7m to maintain adequate clearance above a dining table or walking space. The chain is adjustable during installation to suit taller ceilings.

Can this be installed on a sloped ceiling?

The chandelier is designed for horizontal ceilings. Installation on a sloped ceiling would require a specialist angled ceiling rose to keep the fitting level, as the two-tier structure must remain horizontal to function correctly.

How is the glass cleaned?

The glass rods can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while the chandelier is switched off and cool. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the metal bands or getting water into the bulb holders.
